Anniversary Road Trip

   Lily and I were able to go with Ammon to DC for a work trip. We really enjoyed being in the Capital and visiting all the sights and even going to a Nationals game. On our way home we decided to take advantage of being on the East Coast and make a road trip out of it.

We had a little view of the field from our hotel room.

We really liked seeing the Nationals stadium and it just so happened they were playing the Braves!Bonus!

Lily and this lady kept waving back and forth and then she ( the lady ) asked if they could have a picture together. So yeah that's who this is.

We found the Library of Congress and even though they were closed we got to go in. We wanted to find my mom's book published there. We had to get these official library cards and then we went into this really beautiful reading/research room. It was very cool. All of the rooms were so elegant but we could only take pics in the hall.

Lily needed a ride to our room.

 

Our first stop was in Newark, New Jersey. It has a large Portuguese population.  They have tons of Portuguese style restaurants, grocery stores and cafes.  Ammon was able to speak Portuguese and find some of the delicacies he's been missing.

We stayed the night in a hotel near the Poconos and headed out to Scranton PA!

Celebrating 6 Years

Our next stop was Gettysburg. We were able to take a tour of some of the battle field. Theres no words or pictures to really describe how it felt. Just a new desire to learn more about our history.

And then we headed home....
